Employee Stories LT BW

Trust & inspiration

'Lauren' - Flight Operations, UK:

I joined Draken as a Flight Operations Technical Administrator on maternity cover in 2022. I decided to remain at the company as I felt valued and was encouraged to discuss career path options early on. I became a permanent employee in July 2023 as Compliance Auditor; a role I had been aiming for in my career projection.

As time went on, I took an interest in the wider organisation and identified a gap surrounding neurodiversity within the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) scope. I was fully supported in my aspirations to start a neurodiversity charter, which we signed in early 2024. I now sit on the EDI Committee and feel empowered to share my ideas with the management team.

I was also invited to take part in Draken’s Leadership Talent Programme, where I attend monthly training sessions designed to hone management skills, from time management to finance, and to prepare me for my career ahead.

Draken encourages everyone to bring their authentic self to work, which is more than a tick box exercise. I feel I can contribute to the organisation using my individual skillset, while my personal challenges are acknowledged and understood.
