Last week, the Draken Europe team were excited to host a group of young students from the Jon Egging Trust.
The Jon Egging Trust (JET) is a charity that supports children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and helps them build on qualities like leadership and teamwork - and we're proud to help them with their work. The charity is named for a former RAF Red Arrows pilot, Flt Lt Jon Egging, who lost his life in an air accident whilst completing a display down the road from our HQ during the Bournemouth Air Festival. He was coming to the end of his first year with the world-famous Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, flying in the position of Red 4.
Jon was an inspirational individual, and inspiration is at the heart of everything JET does. Like Jon, the JET team aims to inspire and enthuse vulnerable young students to reach their full potential.
We led the day with a focus on leadership, encouraging the students to take part in various exercises, teaching them about the different elements of our business and walking them around the different departments and hangars at our HQ. The day was a huge success – and we can't wait for their next visit!
